Slant Roof

Houses with Conventional Flat Roofing will Need Leaking Repair Sooner or Later
The first problem that comes to mind when dealing with flat roofs is the leakage issue. When drainage systems for the roof are not seamlessly set up, the roof will lose its purpose of protecting and sheltering its inhabitants from rain, snow, or any other precipitation. While flat roofs are accessible and easily constructed, which is why so many houses are built with them for economical reasons, flat roofing requires regular maintenance and annual inspections. If your flat roof allows leaking in your house, it is important that you call professional roofing services to swiftly identify the problem and fix your roof before further troubles occur.
As mentioned above, it is imperative for the home owner with a flat roof to regularly call roofing services to maintain, and more importantly prevent problems from occurring. Any punctures or cracks on the roof will directly lead to severe leaking damages to the building, and it is in the best interest of the home owners to keep a keen eye on their flat roofing. Although you may want to check the state of your roof yourself, it is highly unadvisable for people with flat roofing, because these roofs are easily damaged, especially the roof membrane that shelters the home. Roofing services providers can professionally inspect your roof and provide several possible preventative solutions for frequent problems with flat roofing.
Installing wooden decks and other paving materials on the roof to prevent puncturing while working on the roof is a typical preventative measure to avoid damages on the flat roof. These can prevent roofing damages, especially when installing HVAC systems or other electrical systems, as people will need to walk and work on the flat roof while performing these tasks. Thus, when you are looking for a new building to move into that has flat roofing, inspect how the roof is set up, and also which material the roof is made of. The average life expectancy of the roof varies upon the quality of maintenance and the type of material it is made of. Specific information on these is best consulted by professional roofing services providers.
Some roofing services also provide innovative methods such as placing topsoil and grasses on the roof. Flat roofing can benefit from these new ways of protecting – such as creating a beautiful green patch on your roof -- by increasing the efficiency of insulation, protection from heavy precipitation, not to mention aesthetic qualities. These installations may be costly, however, so for those who are looking for value and protection, it is advisable to look into roofing services providers that have an established reputation and also much experience in your area.
Flat roofs have many advantages over other roof types as the slanted roof, but these advantages can be only fully appreciated when the roof is regularly maintained and inspected. As such home owners are highly encouraged to not only check their roofs personally, but also seek for professional maintenance and advice for their roofs. A small investment in preventative measures can go a long way and will avoid unnecessary expenses because of leaking problems.

how can i slant or incline my roof in archicad?
i have version archicad 11 and i have a double pitched roof which i want slanted so the roof descends downwards.
could some one please help me on how i can do it or if there's a tool to do that.
thank you!
Akeel
You should seriously consider checking out ArchiCAD's Help menu..
To do what you are asking, you simply model one side of the roof and use the mirror command (using the ridge as your reference) to produce the second roof.. you now have yourself a double pitched roof.
Have a good day.
